Let Nature Rock

I have this unique plant growing and growing in my garden.  Sometimes pulling it out and tossing  it on the waste pile.  Never giving it a second thought. 

This past Sunday when my son came home very excited.  In his hand was a single leaf.   He shared a story of how this leaf  will grow just about anywhere and become a plant.

Then I remembered…    We have that plant.  I had a leaf!

A   friend one day simply gave me a leaf and told me to just set it down where ever I would want a plant to grow. 

 My friend is from the islands.  More specifically a small volcanic island , named Saba, located  in the West Indies.

She told me in Saba they called this leaf, the “Leaf of Life” due to it’s ability to propagate simply by the leaf alone. 

It actually can grow a new plant simply by the leaves that drop on the ground.  

I tried it  and it worked! 

It was the coolest thing ever.  Then I forgot about it. 

Now that my son had reminded me of this “Leaf”,  I became truly interested.  I had no scientific name for it so I just kept searching on the web, digging and digging  to find out the DIRT on this plant that I was all of a sudden oh so curious about

I’ve come to find out that It’s actual scientific or botanical name is Kalanchoe pinnata.  It’s an air plant also known as a Katakataka plant, Miracle Leaf or Goethe Plant.

This amazing “healing” plant not only is wondrous in the way it comes to life but it is also part of God’s pharmacy in many countries.

If you are anything like me, it’s out with the RX drugs and in with the Naturals.   Pharmaceuticals are simply Natural Products altered by man. 

My question is WHY? 

  Why do people feel the need to create so many artificial chemical based drugs when there are so many natural recources available to us with out the harmful side effects?    

The world will never know… All I can do is help with “Natural Health” awareness as  I seek to find more of “Gods Pharmacy” and less of mans.
